"Care of the Compromised Spine Using the VertAlign^® and ComfAlign^® Spinal Support System"

This program emphasizes the abilities to identify the nature of spinal compromise and the mechanics necessary to stabilize such compromises.  The skill necessary to select, design, and alter VertAlign^® and ComfAlign^® components to meet the mechanics of spinal stabilization within the patient's tolerance is also an aim of this program. Training to identify appropriate patients and the appropriate orthoses to support the compromised spine using an on-site, multiple components.  TLSO/LSO system will greatly benefit the practitioner in maintaining professional competence in this rapid growth area.

The methodology consist of the following: A didactic presentation on spinal compromise: A demonstration of the mechanics necessary to support various spinal compromises and the selection of materials for the VertAlign^® and/or ComfAlign^® Spinal Support System necessary to meet the identified materials and mechanics: Hands on lab on how to satisfactorily select, design, and apply the VertAlign^®/ComfAlign^® components necessary to meet the stated problem.

Workshop has been awarded 4.5 scientific credits by ABC, American Board for Certification and BOC, Board for Certification.
